Our Clients Get Relief from Debt Collectors Illegal Behavior — and See Results

Here are just a few recent examples of the cases in which our clients have suffered from debt collectors’ illegal behavior—and the results we were able to obtain on their behalf. When a client contacts Lemberg & Associates for a Fair Debt Collection issue, they often feel overwhelmed and fearful. Our mission is to take the fear away and get them the justice they deserve, often going above and beyond their expectations…

Case: When a man from Florida contacted Lemberg & Associates, he had received numerous phone calls from a debt collector who refused to give the man any information about the debt he allegedly owed. The debt collector repeatedly threatened to “hold his credit score hostage” and withhold any information about the debt until the man provided him with his social security number. This debt collector was using thoroughly unethical tactics and Lemberg & Associates filed suit on our client’s behalf.
Results: The debt collector agreed to erase the entire debt, plus remove all negative reports on his credit report, and pay our client’s legal fees.

Case: A sheriff in Massachusetts had been involved in a horrible accident and while hospitalized he became behind on his bills. He immediately began receiving calls from a debt collector. After the sheriff made a partial payment through his bank account to start paying down the debt, the debt collector drained the Plaintiff’s entire bank account, threatened to ruin his career, and harassed him with phone calls two to three times per day.
Results: Lemberg & Associates extinguished the entire $6,000.00 debt, the bank reversed the withdrawal, and the debt collector paid all legal fees.

Case: In New York, a debt collector began harassing a man by calling him multiple times at his place of employment. After repeatedly requesting that the phone calls stop and in fear of losing his job, he contacted Lemberg & Associates.
Results: Our attorneys negotiated a $3,600.00 settlement.

Case: After receiving threats by a debt collector to take their home, a Massachusetts couple called us. In addition, the debt collector had been calling them continuously, sometimes up to seven calls a day.
Results: Lemberg & Associates wiped out the couple’s $12,000.00 debt plus attorney’s fees which was paid by the debt collector.

Case: An employee of a New York public school was called repeatedly at work by a debt collector. This debt collector divulged personal information about the debt and our client to school secretaries and supervisors. As a result, our client was repeatedly called into his boss’s office and questioned about the calls. Fearing he would lose his job, he contacted Lemberg & Associates.
Results: Our attorneys negotiated a $1,000 cash settlement for the client, plus legal fees.

Case: In Maryland, a debt collector had contacted a woman’s boss four times regarding her debt. Desperate for help, embarrassed and in fear of losing her job, she called Lemberg & Associates.
Results: We stopped the calls, and the woman received $1,750.00.

Lemberg & Associates work on a contingency basis for all of our clients. This allows our clients to seek our help free of charge, without worry that legal fees will cost them further.
