They called my partents house and told them I had a bad debt and I was going to get served unless I called them, scared my eldery mother to death. Then later that day I got a call on my cell phone she never told me who she worked for just gave her name of Denise and that she wanted to call me to let me know an affavidant had come across her desk did I want to take care of it, I said what are you talking about, she said well a process server tried to serve you at your home but they will have to come to your work since it was not a good address. I was very confused and then scared, she said did you have a loan in 2009 you did not pay, I told her the story she said yeah well I need 7000 today or you will be served and they will garnish your check. I said can you send me proof of the debt so I know what your talking about, never got it. She called the next day said she talk to her client and they will take payments if I agree to have them drafted from my bank account. After this point I pulled my credit report no judgement had been filed against me, called the court house none there, not on any list to be served. Then I left her a voice mail letting her know I contacted the FTC and she has been reported, filed a complaint with the BBB as well. Havent heard from her since. Whats crazy is they have you scared so much you almost pay them. I looked them up online and got lots of information on them they do this alot and have several lawsuits filed against them for illegal debt collection practices. Do not be fooled. Threatening to take our house and cars and freezing our assets. All for a 5 year old debt. It is terrible on a persons nerves. Calling from a number that is not even crs number.Telling us they have a judgement against us and I can't find one filed.
