National Recovery Services

National Recovery Services is a debt collection agency based in Ottawa, Kansas. The company was formed in 2007 by two long-term veterans of the credit collection business. Between them, the officers of National Recovery Services claim over 40 years of debt collection experience.

National Recovery Services collects unpaid debt for local and national companies. They collect both pre- and post-charged off accounts for companies. They also purchase assets through credit buyers and brokers, so they may be working older debts that have already passed through several other collection agencies.

National Recovery Services also actively solicits business from payday loan providers and attempts recovery from consumers who have had to resort to payday loans in order to make ends meet. The company uses automated dialing software and accepts payments online and over the telephone.

The Better Business Bureau of Kansas City lists numerous complaints against National Recovery Services for a variety of complaints, including improper collection activities, unauthorized bank debits and failure to present an itemized account statement upon request. These actions may be violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Stop National Recovery Services Harassment

If you have been contacted by National Recovery Services and feel you are being harassed, you don’t have to put up with it. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act contains protections and rights for consumers who are being harassed by debt collection agencies. It lays out specific restrictions on what debt collection agents may and may not do when attempting to collect debts.

National Recovery Services may contact your employer, family, neighbors or other third parties in an attempt to locate you, but there are restrictions on those contacts. They may not inform any third party about your debt or even imply that they are attempting to collect a debt because it is a violation of your privacy. They may not harass third parties. Once they have been informed that those parties have no knowledge of your whereabouts, they may not contact them again. National Recovery Services may not contact third parties about your whereabouts once they have contacted you.

If National Debt Services has violated any of the above or any other regulations laid out in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, they are in violation of federal law and may be liable for up to $1,000. You can report the violations to the Federal Trade Commission or bring suit against them in the court system.
